Subscription Terms
Version 1.0 · Effective 2026-01-10
These Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Terms (“Subscription Terms”) apply to paid CV-DE subscriptions and supplement the CV-DE Terms of Use.By purchasing a paid subscription, you agree to these Subscription Terms.
1. Paid Subscription Plans
CV-DE offers paid subscription plans that provide access to additional features, resources, limits, and services.Available plans, their current prices, included features, and billing intervals are displayed before purchase.CV-DE currently offers subscription tiers including Basic, Standard, and Premium. The features and limits associated with each plan may differ. The plan information presented to you at the time of purchase forms part of your subscription agreement.
2. Subscription Price
The recurring subscription price applicable to your selected plan is displayed before checkout.Prices may include or exclude applicable taxes depending on how taxes are presented during checkout. Before completing payment, you will be shown the amount payable for the transaction.CV-DE may change subscription prices in the future. A price change does not retroactively alter amounts already paid. Changes affecting an existing recurring subscription will be handled in accordance with applicable law and communicated where required.
3. First Instalment
When starting a new paid subscription lifecycle, a one-time First Instalment may apply in addition to the recurring subscription price.
The current First Instalment is CHF 34.99 unless a different amount is clearly displayed before checkout.
The First Instalment is a separate one-time charge and is not part of the recurring monthly subscription price.
Where applicable, the First Instalment and the recurring subscription charge are shown separately during checkout.
The First Instalment normally applies when you begin a new paid subscription lifecycle.
It does not apply again merely because you upgrade from one paid CV-DE plan to another while maintaining an uninterrupted paid subscription lifecycle.
If you cancel your subscription but reverse the cancellation before the subscription actually ends, the same paid lifecycle continues and the First Instalment does not apply again.
If your paid subscription actually ends and you later start a new paid subscription, a new First Instalment may apply.
If a payment enters a temporary recovery or grace period and the subscription is successfully restored without ending the paid lifecycle, a new First Instalment does not apply.
Any applicable First Instalment will be shown before you confirm payment.
4. Promotions and Discount Codes
CV-DE may offer promotional discounts or promotion codes.
Promotions may apply only to specific products, charges, customers, periods, or transactions.
For example, a promotion may reduce or waive the First Instalment without reducing the recurring subscription price.
The checkout page displays the effect of an accepted promotion before payment is completed.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotions cannot be exchanged for cash or applied retroactively to completed purchases.
5. Automatic Renewal
Paid subscriptions are recurring subscriptions unless clearly stated otherwise during checkout.
Your subscription automatically renews according to the billing interval shown at purchase until it is cancelled.
The applicable recurring subscription charge may be collected automatically using the payment method associated with your subscription.
You are responsible for maintaining a valid payment method where automatic renewal applies.
6. Payment Processing
Payments and subscription billing are processed through Stripe.
CV-DE does not need to store your complete payment-card details.
Stripe may process payment information, billing information, transaction data, device information, and other information necessary to process payments, prevent fraud, and administer subscriptions.
Stripe's own terms and privacy policies may also apply to its processing of your information.
7. Upgrading Your Plan
You may upgrade from an eligible paid plan to a higher paid plan where this option is available.
Before confirming an upgrade, CV-DE displays the relevant new plan and pricing information.
An upgrade may take effect immediately.
Stripe may calculate a prorated amount or credit based on the unused portion of your existing subscription and the price of the new plan.
The amount actually charged or credited as part of an upgrade is determined and displayed through the applicable billing process.
An upgrade within an uninterrupted paid subscription lifecycle does not by itself trigger another First Instalment.
After the upgrade takes effect, the features and limits of the new plan apply according to the subscription status recorded by CV-DE and its payment provider.
8. Changing to a Lower Plan
CV-DE does not currently provide a standard self-service mechanism for switching an active subscription directly to a lower paid tier.
Where a lower-tier change is made available or exceptionally processed, the applicable timing, price, and access consequences will be communicated as part of that process.
You may instead cancel your existing subscription and, after it ends, choose another available plan.
If the existing paid lifecycle has ended before a new paid subscription is started, the new purchase may be treated as a new paid lifecycle and the applicable First Instalment may apply.
9. Cancellation
You may cancel your paid subscription using the subscription-management functionality provided by CV-DE and/or its payment provider.
Standard customer cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period unless otherwise stated.
After requesting cancellation, you normally retain access to your paid plan until the end of the period for which payment has already been made.
No further recurring renewal should be charged after the cancellation becomes effective.
If you reverse a scheduled cancellation before the subscription ends, the existing paid subscription lifecycle continues.
Deleting your CV-DE account is separate from ordinary subscription cancellation. Account deletion may terminate an active subscription immediately as part of permanently closing the account.
10. Access After a Subscription Ends
When a paid subscription ends, your account may return to the baseline access level available to Candidate users.
Resources or features exceeding the limits of your current access level may become locked or unavailable for editing.
CV-DE does not intentionally delete your professional content solely because your paid subscription ends.
If you later obtain access to a plan that permits those resources, previously locked resources may become accessible again, subject to the rules and limits applicable at that time.
Account deletion is different from subscription cancellation and may permanently delete your personal CV-DE content.
11. Failed Payments and Grace Periods
If a recurring payment fails, your subscription may enter a temporary payment-recovery or grace period.
During this period, CV-DE or Stripe may attempt to recover the payment or request that you update your payment method.
Access may be maintained, restricted, or eventually returned to baseline depending on the status of the subscription.
If payment is successfully recovered before the paid subscription lifecycle ends, the subscription may continue without a new First Instalment.
If the subscription ultimately terminates and you later purchase a new paid subscription, that purchase may constitute a new paid lifecycle.
12. Refunds
Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated otherwise by CV-DE, payments already completed are generally non-refundable.
Cancelling a subscription normally prevents future renewals but does not automatically refund the current billing period.
A plan upgrade, account deletion, failure to use available features, or a decision to stop using CV-DE does not by itself create an automatic right to a refund.
Where a mandatory right of withdrawal applies, any amount payable or refundable will be determined in accordance with applicable law and taking into account services already provided where legally permitted.
Where a charge was made incorrectly, duplicated, or otherwise requires investigation, you may contact CV-DE.
Nothing in these Subscription Terms limits mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
13. Withdrawal Rights and Consumer Protection
CV-DE does not provide a voluntary trial period, cooling-off period, or general contractual right to cancel a completed purchase for a refund.
Under Swiss law, there is generally no statutory right of withdrawal solely because a contract was concluded online.
Before purchasing a paid subscription, you are required to expressly request that CV-DE begins providing the paid service immediately, before the expiry of any mandatory withdrawal period that may apply to you.
Paid features and computational resources may therefore become available for immediate use after successful payment.
If mandatory consumer law applicable to your transaction provides a right of withdrawal, the consequences of exercising that right, including any payment due for services already provided, will be determined in accordance with that applicable law.
The immediate activation request does not exclude or limit any consumer right that cannot legally be waived.
Nothing in these Subscription Terms creates an additional voluntary withdrawal or refund right beyond rights expressly provided by CV-DE or required by applicable law.
14. Taxes
Applicable taxes may be calculated and collected as part of the checkout and payment process.
The final amount presented before payment may therefore differ from the advertised base price where applicable taxes must be added.
Payment receipts or invoices may be provided through CV-DE, Stripe, or the applicable billing system.
15. Subscription Status and Payment Records
CV-DE uses information received from its payment provider to determine the status of paid subscriptions.
Temporary delays may occur between a payment event and the corresponding update within CV-DE.
CV-DE may retain transaction, invoice, subscription, and accounting records where required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or compliance purposes, including after a subscription or account ends.
Further information is provided in the CV-DE Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to Plans and Subscription Terms
CV-DE may introduce, modify, replace, or discontinue plans or features as the Service develops.
Changes will not retroactively alter completed transactions.
Material changes affecting an existing paid subscription will be handled in accordance with applicable law and communicated where required.
These Subscription Terms may also be updated from time to time.
A new version may require renewed acceptance before a new purchase or other relevant subscription action.
17. Relationship With the Terms of Use
These Subscription Terms supplement the CV-DE Terms of Use.
The Terms of Use continue to apply to your account and use of CV-DE.
If a provision of these Subscription Terms specifically concerns payment, subscription, cancellation, or refunds, that specific provision governs that subject to the extent of any inconsistency with the general Terms of Use.
Mandatory rights under applicable law remain unaffected.
